Getting Involved in the Youth Justice Reimagined Movement

  • The Leadership & Liberation Fellowship is a 6-month intergenerational hybrid learning space designed to support youth leadership through community connection, political education, and skill building. We create a collective experience that focuses on the following goals:

    1. Increased self-awareness: participants explore who they are as people and gain new insights about themselves

    2. Increased sense of belonging: participants feel they are an important part of something with others

    3. Increased knowledge and application of healing centered movement building principles: participants’ relationships and wellbeing are centered while they work for change

    4. Ability to open up and speak out: participants feel more comfortable to share their truth

The Leadership & Liberation Fellowship is facilitated by the Arts for Healing and Justice Network, the Los Angeles Youth Uprising Coalition (LAYUP) and Green Arrow Co-Lab. It runs twice a year beginning in the Fall and Spring. To be updated on the next application period please sign up for the AHJN newsletter.

  • The Decolonization workgroup meets every other Tuesday at 2pm on zoom. It is an expansive learning space that is grounded in Culture, Healing, and Liberation. Our collective learning is done with inclusive values and we center the leadership of Indigenous, Black, and Brown youth and community. As we learn and grow together we seek to build power in ourselves and power in our collective to dismantle harms and to imagine ourselves at the center of transformative change. We are also concerned that young people and communities are deliberately misled about our history and we seek to remedy that by learning the true history of all peoples, with special attention to the lives, cultures, and conditions of Indigenous peoples.
